After years and years of patient waiting, the day we’ve all been eagerly anticipating has finally arrived! Earlier this morning, The Behemoth officially released Castle Crashers and its four player, beat-em-up online co-op to the Xbox Live Arcade. GET EXCITED!
For 1200 Microsoft points ($15), you can download your own copy off the XBLA and, for those points, you’ll be treated to an XBLA experience like no other. With 40 different weapons, over 22 unlockable characters, a leveling system, helpful animal orbs and even an Arena Mode, Castle Crashers should be worth every last dime. Heck, we’re holding a week long Castle Crashers Baby Give-away for the game’s monumental release. We’re that excited! Okay, enough blab, get online and get downloading, because it’s Castle Crashers and we need not say anymore.

With all the Duke Nukem 3D news trickling in over the past few weeks, we know a lot about the game including some of the new additions, release date and even the game’s achievements, but we really haven’t seen the game in action or how the new rewind / video share features will work … until now. Shacknews posted a quick and dirty Duke Nukem 3D hands-on writeup including video footage of the game menus, game footage and the two new features. All we can say is that those who suffered from Marathon motion sickness will probably become woozy after playing Duke on the XBLA. Yum, yum!

Well good lord. After its first week of availability, Bionic Commando Rearmed has sold 130,000 copies. Capcom’s own Ben Judd reported the news on the Bionic Commando blog with the appropriate fervor, saying, “Holy fiddlesticks!” He followed up his elation saying that while the sales pale in comparison to retail titles, 130,000 copies qualifies Rearmed as a “JUGGERNAUT.” One of the important and overlooked elements of this story is that Rearmed was made available on Xbox Live Arcade, PSN and PC, so we’re not sure exactly what percentage each service pulled. Regardless it’s obvious that Rearmed has struck a chord and Judd notes that this proves that gamers do enjoy seeing the games of yesteryear made available again, so long as they are “done right” and for the right price. We couldn’t agree more.

Admittedly, we may be a bit late on this announcement, but who ever said late news isn’t important news? (Don’t answer that.) Ahem, over the weekend, D3 Publisher announced that their “refreshing twist on a classic sport” RocketBowl will be releasing to the Xbox Live Arcade on Wednesday, September 10th for 800 Microsoft points. What exactly is RocketBowl? Picture bowling, on 10 crazy courses with ramps and other doodads, Xbox Live multiplayer, equipment upgrades and (of course) bowling balls that are rocket propelled balls of death. Genius! Now only if we could get our hands on one of these rocket-powered bowling balls for some real life pin action. Though, we hear they’re illegal in twenty-seven states and all of Europe.
[Thanks, to everyone who sent this in]

The wait is nearly over. Course, all this waiting has only made the hype larger and the expectations greater. Can it live up to all this in addition to the 1200 MSP price? Guess you can’t answer me yet. But I expect a full report on Wednesday from all those that took the plunge.
Castle Crashers is rated T for Teen.

With it’s September release already but solidified, we just learned that Duke Nukem 3D for the Xbox Live Arcade will also be sporting some new film saving features.
According to a Microsoft representative at X08, Duke 3D will include both gameplay rewind and saved film video features. The rewind option will allow players to “undo” mistakes (like dying) or go back to a point earlier in the game, whereas the saved film feature will (expectedly) allow players to record and share Duke 3D multiplayer videos with gamers. Two interesting game additions that we totally didn’t see coming, but are welcomed none the less. Two features we’d also like another Duke game to incorporate, somehow.

Along with a few gold earning tips and tricks, Lionhead Studios has informed us (via their lovely Fable 2 development blog) that they plan on releasing a Fable 2 Pub Games patch in the near future to fix the recently discovered gold exploit. Bummer! No word on a specific release date for the game patch, so continue to exploit until your greedy heart is content. Hurry though, time is tick-tock ticking …

Achieve360Points revealed earlier today the full list of achievements for 2 new XBLA titles: Things on Wheels and War World.
While the ToW achievs look fun to play for, the WarWorld ones are a bit uninspired, IMO.
Either way, at least the WarWorld achievement list tells us that the game isn’t forgotten and that’s a good thing, right?

Microsoft announced today that gamers can now pre-order Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. Much more exciting is the fact that the rumored price of $39.99 is true, making Nuts & Bolts a real bargain. Making the deal even sweeter, gamers that pre-order the game will receive a download code for the Xbox Live Arcade version of the original Banjo Kazooie. Even better than that, the code will work starting on November 14, the day of the Nuts & Bolts launch, a full two weeks before the XBLA game hits Xbox Live Marketplace. The XBLA release will include a feature called “Stop N’ Swop” which allows players to unlock new features in XBLA game by playing Nuts & Bolts.
Finally, a new Nuts & Bolts world called Jiggoseum was revealed. You can check out the first images of Jiggoseum in the gallery below.
